Regular Season Round 21: VKM - VKKM 101-118

The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Vilniaus: VKKM (#1) and VKM (#4). VKM was crushed at home by 17 points 101-118 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of VKM. The guests trailed by 13 points after first quarter, but they stormed back and won the game by 17 points. VKKM dominated down low during the game scoring 76 of its points in the paint compared to VKM's 52. They also forced 20 VKM turnovers. VKKM looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was guard Kristupas Lesciauskas (190-2005) who scored 22 points and 7 rebounds. Point guard Justas Ziubrys (183-2005) chipped in 19 points and 6 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Erikas Vansevicius (188-2005) who recorded a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds and swingman Arturas Vilutis (193-2005) added 16 points and 10 rebounds respectively. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. VKM's coach Vytenis Tupciauskas rotated thirteen players seeing no chance for a win. VKKM maintains first place with 17-4 record. VKM at the other side keeps the fourth position with six games lost. VKKM are looking forward to face Perkunas (#11) in Kaunas in the next round and are hoping to win another game. VKM will play on the road against Saule (#5) in Siauliai and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
