Regular Season Round 24: Hoverla - Polit-Halychyna 66-78

The game between closely ranked teams ended with fifth ranked Polit-Halychyna's (15-14) road victory over 6th ranked Hoverla (9-21) in Ivano-Frankivsk 78-66 on Tuesday. The guests trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 10-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 78-66. Polit-Halychyna looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The winners were led by forward Vladlen Berezhnyy (199-1995) who scored that evening 30 points and 9 rebounds and forward Danilo Kych (195-2000) supported him with 22 points. Even 18 points by forward Artem Vodolazsky (198-1992) did not help to save the game for Hoverla. Center Stepan Lesyk (205-2002) added 10 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Newly promoted Polit-Halychyna maintains fifth position with 15-14 record. Hoverla lost third consecutive game. Hoverla at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the sixth place with 21 games lost.
