Regular Season Round 25: Cankaya - Bursa 74-115

We should mention about the upset which took place in Ankara, where 8th ranked Cankaya (9-16) was outleveled at home by eleventh ranked Bursa (8-17) 115-74. Bursa dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Cankaya's 40 and made 16-of-21 charity shots (76.2 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Cankaya 43-26 including a 35-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Bursa players were unselfish on offense dishing 29 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Chennedy Carter (170-1998, college: Texas A&M) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 11 assists. Her fellow American import center Channon Fluker (193-1997, college: CSUN) contributed with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 20 rebounds for the winners. The former international swingman Ayse Cora (175-1993) answered with 22 points and 6 rebounds and Croatian-American Shavonte Zellous (178-1986, college: Pittsburgh) added 17 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Cankaya. Five Cankaya players scored in double figures. Bursa maintains eleventh place with 8-17 record. Cankaya lost their sixth game in a row. They keep the eighth position with 16 games lost. Bursa will play against higher ranked Besiktas (#7) in Istanbul in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Cankaya will play on the road against Kayseri and hopes to get back on the winning track.
