Rather expected game when 10th ranked Furstenfeld Panthers (8-20) were crushed on the road by eighth ranked Kapfenberg Bulls (13-15) 101-71 on Wednesday. The hosts trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 101-71. Kapfenberg Bulls dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Furstenfeld Panthers' 30. They outrebounded Furstenfeld Panthers 47-17 including a 34-8 advantage in defensive rebounds. Kapfenberg Bulls looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. The best player for the winners was Montenegrin Milos Latkovic (196-1993) who had a double-double by scoring 14 points, 7 rebounds and 16 assists. American center Brad Greene (210-1998, college: UC Irvine) chipped in a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Four Kapfenberg Bulls players scored in double figures. Kapfenberg Bulls' coach Michael Schrittwieser felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Steve Jr Robinson (165-1996, college: Mt.St.Mary's) who recorded 24 points and 9 assists and Norwegian power forward Andrija Blatancic (201-1995, college: St.Cloud St.) added 17 points respectively. Kapfenberg Bulls maintains eighth position with 13-15 record. Newly promoted Furstenfeld Panthers keep the tenth place with 20 games lost. They share the position with Timberwolves. Kapfenberg Bulls will meet at home Arkadia Lions (#9) in the next round. Furstenfeld Panthers will play against UBSC Graz and hope to secure a win.
