Rather expected game when 6th ranked Hoverla (9-21) was smashed by fourth ranked Kyiv Basket (21-8) in Ivano-Frankivsk 83-43 on Wednesday. The game without a history. Kyiv Basket led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Hoverla's 22. They outrebounded Hoverla 47-22 including a 15-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. The winners were led by center Roman Novikov (204-1992) who scored that evening 15 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and Ihor Dubonenko (197-1998, agency: BIG) supported him with 17 points and 7 rebounds. Even 15 points and 9 rebounds by forward Artem Vodolazsky (198-1992) did not help to save the game for Hoverla. Point guard Sergey Startsev (190-1997, agency: BIG) added 9 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Kyiv Basket have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with BIPA O. Hoverla lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the sixth position with 21 games lost.
