There was an upset when higher ranked Craiova (6-9) was defeated at home by ninth ranked Timisoara (5-11) 80-69 on Wednesday. The guests trailed by 3 points after three quarters before their 28-14 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Worth to mention a great performance of Serbian center Igor Kesar (210-1992, agency: Mansfield and Associates) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 6 rebounds and Serbian point guard Ilija Djokovic (191-1996) who added 14 points and 5 assists during the contest. Four Timisoara players scored in double figures. Timisoara's coach Dragan Petricevic used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American point guard Cortez Edwards (188-1997, college: Southern Miss, agency: Octagon Europe) responded with 24 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and Serbian Milivoje Mijovic (200-1991, agency: 011 Sports) scored 15 points and 5 rebounds. Timisoara maintains ninth position with 5-11 record. Craiova at the other side keeps the fifth place with nine games lost. They share the position with Dinamo B.. Timisoara will meet at home higher ranked Rapid (#3) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Craiova will play against the league's leader Oradea and will have a slim chance for a victory.
