The most exciting game of round 6 in the BSL took place in Gmunden. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of second-best Gmunden Swans (23-5) to fourth ranked Gunners Oberwart (16-12) 84-81 on Thursday evening. It ended at the same time the 11-game winning streak of Gmunden Swans. The guests trailed by 10 points after three quarters before their 23-10 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Gunners Oberwart looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American forward Rob Howard (203-1997, college: UIC, agency: One Motive Sports) scored 26 points and 6 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import forward Brock Gardner (201-1997, college: Master's, agency: Players Group) chipped in 13 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Gardner is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. The best for the losing side was the former international guard Daniel Friedrich (181-1992) with 20 points and American power forward Urald King (198-1990, college: SE Oklahoma) scored 13 points and 9 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Gunners Oberwart maintains fourth position with 16-12 record. Gmunden Swans at the other side keep the second place with five games lost. Gunners Oberwart are looking forward to face UBC St. Poelten (#5) in St.Poelten in the next round. Gmunden Swans will play on the road against Raiffeisen Flyers Wels and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
