Regular Season Round 21: Blyskavky 2 - Dnipro 59-91

Bottom-ranked Blyskavky 2 (0-22) is still winless. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their 22th consecutive match to second ranked Dnipro (9-10) 91-59. The game was mostly controlled by Dnipro. Blyskavky 2 was better in second period 26-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Blyskavky 2 to just 7 points in fourth quarter. Dnipro forced 22 Blyskavky 2 turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Guard Kseniya Afanasyeva (170-1993) nailed 24 points, 9 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals for the winning side and forward Olena Khoroshykh (176-2002) accounted for 25 points and 8 rebounds. Newly promoted Dnipro maintains second place with 9-10 record having sixteen points less than leader Kyiv Basket. Blyskavky 2 at the other side, also newcomer in the league, still closes the standings with 22 games lost. Dnipro will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Blyskavky 2 will play again at home against the league's second-placed Dnipro (#2) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
