Ninth-ranked Leverkusen 2 (12-14) gave a tough game to second ranked Ibbenbueren (18-8). The visitors from Ibbenbueren managed to secure only one-point victory 93-92. However their fans expected much easier game. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Leverkusen 2. Ibbenbueren shot the lights out from three nailing 13 long-distance shots on high 56.5 percentage. It was an exceptional evening for American-Spanish Marco Porcher Jimenez (193-1992, college: FIU) who led the winners and scored 26 points and 5 assists. Point guard Niklas Husmann (187-1998) accounted for 20 points and 5 assists (perfect from the field making all six shots) for the winning side. Point guard Viktor Frankl-Maus (186-1993) came up with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 14 assists and Thomas Michel (200-1995) added 15 points and 9 rebounds respectively for Leverkusen 2 in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Leverkusen 2's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Ibbenbueren have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain second place with 18-8 record having just two points less than leader Fellbach. Leverkusen 2 at the other side keeps the ninth position with 14 games lost. They share it with Hamm.
