Leader Oradea delivered the sixteenth win on Saturday night. This time they beat 6th ranked Craiova (7-11) 85-76. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 29-20. But Craiova won second period 21-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Oradea made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was Lithuanian Donatas Tarolis (207-1994) who scored 20 points (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). The former international point guard Kris Richard (196-1989, college: Tulane) chipped in 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Richard is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Oradea players scored in double figures. Oradea's coach Cristian Achim used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American point guard Cortez Edwards (188-1997, college: Southern Miss, agency: Octagon Europe) who recorded 15 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists and the former international center Bogdan Tibirna (211-1991, agency: BIG) added 19 points respectively. Oradea (16-2) have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. They maintain first place. Craiova at the other side keeps the sixth position with 11 games lost. They share it with Pitesti. Oradea are looking forward to face league's second-placed Cluj Napoca on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Craiova will play against Dinamo B. (#9) in Bucuresti and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
