There was a minor upset when 7th ranked Eagles (12-12) were defeated on the road by tenth ranked Schwelm (10-13) 95-90 on Saturday. Schwelm looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Naturalized American Chris Frazier (182-1990, college: Dubuque) fired 24 points and 7 assists for the winners. Robert Merz (198-2000) chipped in 14 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists. American point guard Trey McBride (188-1997, college: Northwood) produced 27 points, 8 assists and 6 steals and Emil Marshall (198-2000) added 18 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four Schwelm and five Eagles players scored in double figures. Schwelm moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Leitershofen and Ehingen. Loser Eagles keep the seventh position with 12 games lost. Schwelm will meet TKS 49ers (#8) in the next round. Eagles will have a break next round.
