Second Stage Round 7: Kapfenberg - Arkadia 94-54

The game between closely ranked teams ended with eighth ranked Kapfenberg Bulls' (14-15) home victory over 9th ranked Arkadia Lions (11-18) 94-54 on Saturday. The game without a history. Kapfenberg Bulls led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Arkadia Lions' 36. They outrebounded Arkadia Lions 33-21 including a 26-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for Montenegrin Milos Latkovic (196-1993) who led his team to a victory scoring 14 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. American center Brad Greene (210-1998, college: UC Irvine) helped adding 14 points and 12 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!). Five Kapfenberg Bulls players scored in double figures. Kapfenberg Bulls' coach Michael Schrittwieser felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side Latvian center Ilja Gromovs (211-1994) responded with 21 points and 8 rebounds and guard David Makivic (190-2001) scored 8 points and 5 assists. Kapfenberg Bulls have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with St.Poelten. Arkadia Lions lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with 18 games lost. Kapfenberg Bulls will meet bottom-ranked Nord Dragonz (#12) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Arkadia Lions will play against UBSC Graz and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
