Regular Season Round 25: Balkan - Beroe 82-83

The most exciting game of round 25 in the NBL took place in Botevgrad. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of much higher ranked Balkan (17-7) to seventh ranked Beroe (12-13) 83-82 on Saturday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the home team. Beroe made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of Bosnian power forward Aleksandar Todorovic (206-1987, agency: PEPI SPORT) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 5 rebounds. American swingman Darious Hall (201-1997, college: Cent Arkansas) contributed with 21 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. The former international Pavlin Ivanov (195-1993, agency: Octagon Europe) answered with 17 points and 6 assists and international Dimitar Dimitrov (203-1993) added 12 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Balkan. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Beroe maintains seventh place with 12-13 record. Defending champion Balkan keeps the second position with seven games lost. Beroe are looking forward to face league's leader Rilski in Samokov in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Balkan will play at home against Chernomorets and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
