Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both sixth ranked Santo Andre and 5th ranked Vasco had identical 3-3 record. This time Santo Andre used a home court advantage and smashed the opponent from Porto 90-71 on Saturday night. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Keith Carter (185-1994, college: Valpo) who led the winners and scored 30 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. His fellow American import forward Niko Bevens (198-1998, college: Alaska-Anch., agency: Promo Sport ID) accounted for 16 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side. Four Santo Andre players scored in double figures. Santo Andre's coach Pedro Oliveira allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American center Jaja Davis (196, college: Montreat) came up with 26 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and power forward Joao Torrie (200-1991) added 6 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for Vasco in the defeat. Santo Andre (4-3) moved-up to third place, which they share with Electrico FC and Benfica B. Vasco lost fourth consecutive game. Vasco at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the fifth position with four games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Santo Andre will meet Galitos (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Vasco will play against the league's second-placed Portimonense and hope to secure a win.
