The game between closely ranked teams ended with seventh ranked Sibiu's (8-10) home victory over 8th ranked Dinamo B. (6-12) 80-68 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 7 points at the halftime before their 45-26 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Latvian Roberts Blumbergs (208-1998, college: GCU) stepped up and scored 31 points and 6 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) for the winners and Argentinian point guard Gaston Whelan (187-1994) chipped in 20 points and 10 assists. Sibiu's coach Tomas Rinkevicius used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was Italian-Polish power forward Jakub Wojciechowski (214-1990) with 12 points and 7 rebounds and the former international forward Vlad Moldoveanu (206-1988, college: American) scored 15 points. Four Dinamo B. players scored in double figures. Sibiu moved-up to fifth place. Dinamo B. lost their third game in a row. They keep the eighth position with 12 games lost. They share it with Timisoara. Sibiu will meet Constanta (#10) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Dinamo B. will play against Craiova and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
