Fifth-ranked Juventus (15-10) made lots of trouble for second ranked Rytas (20-5) in Vilnius on Saturday. Rytas managed to secure only two-point victory 103-101. However their fans expected easier game. 31 personal fouls committed by Juventus helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The former international center Martynas Echodas (206-1997) fired 24 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the winners. International Gytis Radzevicius (197-1995) chipped in 18 points and 5 rebounds. American point guard Brandon Brown (180-1991, college: LMU) produced 24 points and 6 assists and the other American import center Reggie Lynch (207-1994, college: Minnesota) added 19 points and 8 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four Rytas and five Juventus players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Rytas have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Defending champion maintains second place with 20-5 record behind leader Zalgiris. Juventus at the other side keeps the fifth position with ten games lost. Rytas are looking forward to face Neptunas (#8) in Klaipeda in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Juventus will play on the road against Jonava and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
