Regular Season Round 25: Gargzdu - Nevezis 73-87

There was no surprise in Gargzdai where 11th ranked Gargzdu (5-20) was defeated by eighth ranked Nevezis (12-13) 87-73 on Sunday. Nevezis looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. American guard Brad Davison (193-1999, college: Wisconsin) stepped up and scored 18 points and 4 assists for the winners and his fellow American import forward Deshawn Freeman (201-1994, college: Rutgers, agency: One Motive Sports) chipped in 14 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. At the losing side American point guard Josh Newkirk (185-1994, college: Indiana) responded with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 11 assists and 4 steals and Canadian guard Isiah Osborne (196-1996, college: Carleton) scored 18 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Nevezis moved-up to seventh place. Newly promoted Gargzdu dropped to the tenth position with 20 games lost. They share it with P.Zvaigzdes. Nevezis will meet P.Zvaigzdes (#11) in the next round. Gargzdu will play against Prienai and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
