There was a surprise result in Kocaeli where twelfth ranked Manisa (10-18) defeated 4th placed Izmit (18-10) 72-67 on Monday. The best player for the winners was American center Tearra Banks (188-1995, college: Austin Peay) who had a double-double by scoring 26 points and 18 rebounds. Pelin Kuccuk (172-1990) chipped in 20 points and 4 assists. Forward Deniz Aygul (186-1995) produced 11 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and point guard Eda Sahin (169-1999) added 15 points, 6 assists and 4 steals respectively for the hosts. Four Izmit players scored in double figures. Izmit's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game.
