Another exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Istanbul: Fenerbahce (#2) and Galatasaray (#7). Fenerbahce (20-4) crushed visiting Galatasaray (11-13) by 22 points 86-64. They outrebounded Galatasaray 45-27 including a 34-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Fenerbahce looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was Canadian forward Dyshawn Pierre (198-1993, college: Dayton) who scored 15 points and 7 rebounds. American center Johnathan Motley (208-1995, college: Baylor) chipped in 14 points. The former international Sadik Kabaca (208-2000) produced 13 points and 7 rebounds and Serbian center Dusan Ristic (213-1995, college: Arizona) added 8 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
