Leader Zalgiris delivered the twenty first victory. This time they crushed 12th ranked Prienai (3-22) 94-57. Zalgiris dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Prienai's 34. They outrebounded Prienai 38-23 including a 26-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Zalgiris players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Prienai's players. Worth to mention a great performance of Latvian Rolands Smits (207-1995) who helped to win the game recording 7 points and 10 rebounds. The former international center Laurynas Birutis (213-1997) contributed with 12 points for the winners. Justinas Jogminas (197-1997) answered with 17 points and 9 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and American point guard Kyan Anderson (180-1992, college: TCU) added 11 points in the effort for Prienai. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Zalgiris. They maintain first place with 21-4 record. Prienai at the other side stay dead last with 22 lost games. Zalgiris will play against Siauliai (#9) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Prienai will play against Gargzdu and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
