Regular Season Round 29: Elazig Karabulut - Elazig Il 59-76

Rather expected game when 10th ranked Elazig Karabulut (11-16) was defeated at home by seventh ranked Elazig Il (16-13) 76-59 on Monday. Elazig Il dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Elazig Karabulut's 26. They outrebounded Elazig Karabulut 54-27 including a 21-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Elazig Il looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Elazig Karabulut's players. The best player for the winners was American center Yemiyah Morris (198-1998, college: WVU) who had a double-double by scoring 37 points (!!!), 20 rebounds and 5 blocks. Guard Ceren Gokdemir (177-1992) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points, 5 rebounds and 13 assists. Elazig Il's coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. American guard Ameryst Alston (175-1993, college: Ohio St.) produced 34 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 4 assists and Dilara Gocmen added 8 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Elazig Il maintains seventh place with 16-13 record. Elazig Karabulut lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the tenth position with 16 games lost. Elazig Il will meet at home Urla (#14) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Elazig Karabulut will play against Bogazici (#8) in Bursa and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
