Regular Season Round 24: Patriotes - Alytaus 46-68

Very expected game in Kaunas where 11th ranked Patriotes (3-18) was rolled over by second ranked Alytaus (18-3) 68-46. It was a good game for guard Rita Zilinskaite (175-1992) who led her team to a victory with 20 points and 7 rebounds. The former international Rasa Zemantauskaite-Matla (176-1981) contributed with 14 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Ukrainian guard Marta Sedelnikova (173-1986) replied with 16 points and 5 rebounds and forward Deimante Naruseviciute (177-1983) added 8 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Patriotes. Patriotes' coach Andrius Vaicekauskas gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Alytaus maintains second position with 18-3 record having just three points less than leader Kibirkstis-MRU. Patriotes lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh place with 18 games lost. Alytaus will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Patriotes will play on the road against VK-Kamane (#13) in Vilnius and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
