Regular Season Round 25: LSU-Kaunas - Kauno-LSMU 85-62

The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Kaunas: LSU-Kaunas (#6) and Kauno-LSMU (#7). LSU-Kaunas (14-7) crushed visiting Kauno-LSMU (12-10) by 23 points 85-62. LSU-Kaunas forced 25 Kauno-LSMU turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international guard Kriste Timofejeva (180-1992) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 5 rebounds. Forward Daniele Pakulyte (179-2004) contributed with 18 points for the winners. LSU-Kaunas' coach Kornelija Balciunaite felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international forward Gabija Segzdaite (185-2000) answered with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 14 rebounds and forward Evelina Razgute (181-2003) added 8 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Kauno-LSMU. LSU-Kaunas moved-up to fifth place. Kauno-LSMU at the other side keeps the seventh position with ten games lost. LSU-Kaunas are looking forward to face Vilniaus DPV (#9) at home in the next round. Kauno-LSMU will play against Kedainiu and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
