Second Stage Round 5: Invasport - Uzhgorod 86-55

There was a small surprise in Dnipro where thirteenth ranked Invasport (4-1) smashed 11th ranked Uzhgorod (4-4) 86-55 on Friday. The hosts trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 5-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 86-55. Invasport dominated on the defensive end, holding Uzhgorod to just 3 points in fourth quarter. They also forced 28 Uzhgorod turnovers. Invasport looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Uzhgorod's players. The best player for the winners was center Yevgen Brechko (206-1992) who had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds. Point guard Andriy Raus (185-1991) chipped in 16 points. Four Invasport players scored in double figures. Invasport's coach Stanislav Kakovkin felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Forward Denys Koshovets (202-1990) produced 14 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Denis Ignatishin (178-1999) added 13 points respectively for the guests. Invasport have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Khmelnytskyi. Newly promoted Uzhgorod dropped to the thirteenth position with four games lost. Invasport will meet higher ranked MBC-Niko 2 (#10) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Uzhgorod will have a break next round.
