There was no surprise when 6th ranked Craiova (7-11) was defeated at home by fourth ranked Voluntari (10-8) 87-77 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Voluntari. Craiova managed to win third quarter 20-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American Toddrick Gotcher (192-1993, college: Texas Tech) fired 18 points for the winners. The other American import point guard Maurice Watson (178-1993, college: Creighton) chipped in 15 points. Four Voluntari players scored in double figures. American point guard Cortez Edwards (188-1997, college: Southern Miss, agency: Octagon Europe) produced 18 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists and Finnish Topias Palmi (196-1994, agency: Blacktop Management) added 18 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Voluntari maintains fourth position with 10-8 record. Loser Craiova keeps the sixth place with 11 games lost. They share the position with Pitesti.
