There was a surprise result in Istanbul where fourteenth ranked Besiktas (8-16) beat higher ranked Merkezefendi (10-14) 70-59 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was American Jordan Usher (201-1999, college: Georgia Tech) who scored 22 points and 6 rebounds. Polish swingman Michal Sokolowski (196-1992) chipped in 19 points and 8 rebounds. Greek swingman Nikolaos Rogkavopoulos (203-2001) produced 25 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and American guard Andrew Harrison (198-1994, college: Kentucky) added 6 points, 5 rebounds, 8 assists and 5 steals respectively for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Besiktas maintains fourteenth place with 8-16 record. Merkezefendi lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the eighth position with 14 games lost. They share it with Buyukcekmece and Manisa.
