Regular Season Round 23: Tofas - Turk Telekom 91-94

Tenth-ranked Tofas (9-15) gave a tough game to first ranked Turk Telekom (21-3) in Bursa on Saturday. The visitors from Ankara managed to secure only three-point victory 94-91. However their fans expected much easier game. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Tofas. Turk Telekom dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Tofas' 32 and made 30-of-37 free shots (81.1 percent) during the game, while Tofas only scored fourteen points from the stripe. 30 personal fouls committed by Tofas helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a great evening for American guard Jerian Grant (196-1992, college: Notre Dame) who led his team to a victory scoring 24 points and 4 assists. French forward Axel Bouteille (201-1995) helped adding 20 points. American guard Rob Gray (186-1994, college: Houston) responded with 23 points and 6 assists and the other American import Milton Doyle (193-1993, college: Loyola, IL) scored 23 points. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Turk Telekom have an impressive series of eleven victories in a row. They maintain first place with 21-3 record. Tofas at the other side dropped to the eleventh position with 15 games lost. They share it with Petkim and Bahcesehir.
