Rather predictable result when eleventh ranked Chemnitz (11-15) won against 15th ranked MBC (9-17) in Weissenfels 76-72 on Saturday. Chemnitz made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was an exceptional evening for Kevin Yebo (207-1996) who led the winners and scored 21 points and 5 rebounds. Lithuanian point guard Arnas Velicka (195-1999) accounted for 6 points and 8 assists for the winning side. Four Chemnitz players scored in double figures. American swingman Kris Clyburn (198-1996, college: UNLV) came up with a double-double by scoring 31 points and 12 rebounds and Martin Breunig (203-1992, college: Montana) added 6 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for MBC in the defeat. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Chemnitz maintains eleventh place with 11-15 record. MBC lost their sixth game in a row. They keep the fifteenth position with 17 games lost. Chemnitz will meet at home higher ranked EWE Baskets (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. MBC will play against Skyliners (#17) in Frankfurt and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
