The game between closely ranked teams ended with twelfth ranked Herford's (4-20) home victory over 13th ranked Giessen Pointers (1-22) 100-73 on Saturday. Herford had a 32-21 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. Naturalized American Shawn Gulley (200-1993, college: Temple JC) had a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Lithuanian Dainius Zvinklys (203-1990) chipped in 13 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. Four Herford players scored in double figures. Paul Carl (190-2002) responded with 17 points and 5 assists and Mali-French Tim Troussel (203-1995, college: Newman) scored 12 points and 8 rebounds. Giessen Pointers' coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Newly promoted Herford maintains twelfth position with 4-20 record, which they share with FC Bayern 2. Giessen Pointers lost twelfth consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth place with 22 games lost.
