There was no surprise when 14th ranked Hamburg Towers (10-18) were outleveled on the road by sixth ranked ratiopharm Ulm (15-12) 112-78 on Sunday. ratiopharm Ulm shot 66.7 percent from the field. ratiopharm Ulm had a 29-16 advantage in offensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 17 long-distance shots on high 51.5 percentage. ratiopharm Ulm looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. It was an exceptional evening for Brazilian point guard Yago Matheus (175-1999) who led the winners and scored 20 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. Brazilian Bruno Caboclo (206-1995) accounted for 21 points, 8 rebounds and 4 blocks for the winning side. ratiopharm Ulm's coach Anton Gavel felt very confident that he used 11 players saving starting five for next games. Slovenian point guard Ziga Samar (197-2001) came up with 9 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists and American guard Ryan Taylor (198-1995, college: Northwestern) added 19 points respectively for Hamburg Towers in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. ratiopharm Ulm maintains sixth place with 15-12 record. Hamburg Towers at the other side dropped to the thirteenth position with 18 games lost. They share it with Crailsheim. ratiopharm Ulm will meet Braunschweig (#16) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
