Very expected game when 16th ranked Science City Jena (10-20) was crushed on the road by seventh ranked Phoenix Hagen (17-13) 94-71 on Sunday. Phoenix Hagen shot 61.2 percent from the field. It was a great shooting night for Phoenix Hagen especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.9 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Americans were the main players on the court. The best player for the winners was JJ Mann (198-1991, college: Belmont, agency: GoEmpire Group) who scored 26 points (on 12-of-14 shooting from the field). Guard Kyle Castlin (193-1996, college: Xavier) chipped in 22 points. Four Phoenix Hagen players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was center Alex Herrera (206-1992, college: Fort Lewis) who recorded 13 points and 6 rebounds and Shaquille Hines (200-1993, college: UTRGV) added 12 points and 8 rebounds respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Phoenix Hagen moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Dresden. Science City Jena lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the sixteenth position with 20 games lost. Phoenix Hagen will meet Eisbaeren Bremerhaven (#8) on the road in the next round. Science City Jena will play against 46ers (#5) and hope to secure a win.
