There was no surprise in Bursa where 14th ranked Gemlik (7-18) was defeated by twelfth ranked Kocaeli (10-15) 92-86 on Sunday. Kocaeli looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Gemlik's players. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Desure Buie (185-1997, college: Hofstra) who helped to win the game recording 31 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists and forward Murat Erensoy (201-1991) who added 16 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. Kocaeli's coach Ahmet Yolcu used a ten-player rotation saving starting five for next games. The best for the losing side was American guard Jeremy Sheppard (185-1997, college: URI, agency: Mansfield and Associates) with 22 points and 4 assists and Batin Tuna (197-2003) scored 14 points and 7 rebounds. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Kocaeli moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Mamak and Haremspor. Gemlik at the other side dropped to the fifteenth position with 18 games lost. Kocaeli will meet at home Mamak (#11) in the next round. Gemlik will play against Bornova (#14) in Izmir and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
