There was no surprise when 6th ranked Craiova 2 (3-8) was defeated at home by third ranked Agronomia (7-3) 86-73 on Monday. The game was mostly controlled by Agronomia. Craiova 2 managed to win third quarter 27-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Craiova 2 to just 7 points in second quarter. Forward Mihnea Buligescu (-2001) scored 14 points, 6 assists and 5 steals to lead the charge for the winners and center Andrei Vizitiu (201-1986) chipped in 14 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Four Agronomia players scored in double figures. At the losing side Luca Manda (-2003) responded with 22 points and 5 assists and Stefan Chiritoiu (-2004) scored 16 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players saving starting five for next games. Agronomia have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 7-3 record having just three point less than leader Brasov. Craiova 2 lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with eight games lost. Agronomia will meet at home Politehnica Iasi (#4) in the next round. Craiova 2 will play against Laguna in Bucuresti and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
