Regular Season Round 26: Prienai - Gargzdu 90-77
Date: April 11, 2023
Bottom-ranked Prienai managed to get a fourth victory, breaking the two-game losing streak. This time they won against eleventh-ranked Gargzdu 90-77. Prienai dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Gargzdu's 36. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. American point guard Kyan Anderson (180-1992, college: TCU) notched a double-double by scoring 19 points, 12 assists and 4 steals to lead the effort and forward Tauras Jogela (202-1993, agency: 011 Sports) supported him with 15 points and 5 rebounds. Five Prienai players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 24 points and 12 rebounds by Canadian guard Isiah Osborne (196-1996, college: Carleton) did not help to save the game for Gargzdu. The former international center Sarunas Beniusis (206-1993, agency: BIG) added 15 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Prienai maintains twelfth position with 4-22 record. Gargzdu lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the eleventh place with 21 games lost. Prienai will play against higher ranked P.Zvaigzdes (#10) in Pasvalys in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Gargzdu will play at home against Juventus and hopes to get back on the winning track.
