Everything could happen in Bochum at the game between two tied teams. Both eleventh ranked SparkassenStars and 10th ranked Gladiators had identical 14-16 record. This time SparkassenStars used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Trier 116-109 on Wednesday night. SparkassenStars dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Gladiators' 42. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 34 assists. It was a great evening for American guard TJ Crockett (185-1999, college: Lindenwood) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!) and 10 assists. His fellow American import guard Conley Garrison (185-1999, college: Furman, agency: GoEmpire Group) helped adding 20 points, 6 rebounds and 15 assists. At the losing side American point guard Jordan Johnson (177-1995, college: UNLV) responded with 30 points and 8 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and point guard Garai Zeeb (187-1997) scored 21 points. Four SparkassenStars and five Gladiators players scored in double figures. SparkassenStars (15-16) moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Kirchheim. Gladiators lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the twelfth position with 17 games lost. They share it with Nuernberg. SparkassenStars will meet at home Kirchheim Knights (#10) in the next round. Gladiators will play against Science City Jena and hope to secure a win.
