There was no surprise in Nuernberg where 13th ranked Falcons (14-17) were defeated by fourth ranked Lions (20-11) 93-88 on Wednesday. Lions made 30-of-35 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game, while Falcons only scored eleven points from the stripe. It was a great evening for naturalized Ivorian guard Bazoumana Kone (190-1993, college: Bremerhaven) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points and 7 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws). American-Italian forward Lorenzo Cugini (198-1993, college: High Point) helped adding 22 points. Four Lions players scored in double figures. At the losing side Lithuanian Justinas Ramanauskas (193-2000) responded with 19 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists and center Moritz Krimmer (202-2000) scored 15 points and 8 rebounds. The victory was the eighth consecutive win for Lions. They moved-up to third place. Loser Falcons dropped to the twelfth position with 17 games lost. They share it with Trier. Lions will meet at home Leverkusen (#17) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Falcons will play against Artland Dragons (#4) in Quakenbrueck and hope to secure a win.
