The game between closely ranked teams ended with 11th ranked Sangalhos' (2-28) road loss to tenth ranked CAB Madeira (10-19) 60-99 on Saturday. CAB Madeira forced 19 Sangalhos turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Sangalhos' players. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Nuno Sa (200-1997) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 6 rebounds and American AJ Cheeseman (202-1998, college: UMES) who added 19 points during the contest. Angolan Jeronimo Luis (197-1999) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and Angolan point guard Cleuzio Castro (180-1997) scored 10 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. CAB Madeira maintains tenth position with 10-19 record. Sangalhos lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keep the eleventh place with 28 games lost. CAB Madeira will meet at home higher ranked Povoa (#7) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Sangalhos will play against Vitoria SC (#6) and hope to secure a win.
