BBL top team - ALBA Berlin (27-2) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they crushed thirteenth ranked Hamburg Towers (10-19) 83-63. ALBA Berlin made 19-of-22 free shots (86.4 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Worth to mention a quality performance of the former international Johannes Thiemann (206-1994) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and American center Ben Lammers (208-1995, college: Georgia Tech) who added 12 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. ALBA Berlin's coach Israel Gonzalez used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side the former international Lukas Meisner (203-1995, college: Columbia) responded with 13 points and 9 rebounds and American Yoeli Childs (203-1998, college: BYU) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. ALBA Berlin have an impressive nine-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 27-2 record. Hamburg Towers at the other side keep the thirteenth place with 19 games lost. They share the position with Crailsheim. ALBA Berlin are looking forward to face Braunschweig (#16) at home in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Hamburg Towers will play against MLP Academics Heidelberg and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
