Regular Season Round 28: Jonava - Gargzdu 67-65

Eleventh-ranked Gargzdu (6-22) was very close to win a game against sixth ranked Jonava (15-13) on Tuesday. Jonava managed to secure only two-point victory 67-65. However their fans expected much easier game. Jonava looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The winners were led by American forward Jeff Garrett (201-1994, college: LSUS, agency: Players Group) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds and the former international swingman Edvinas Seskus (196-1995, agency: BIG) supported him with 12 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Jonava players scored in double figures. Even 26 points by American point guard Josh Newkirk (185-1994, college: Indiana) did not help to save the game for Gargzdu. Giedrius Staniulis (206-1991) added 14 points and 8 rebounds for lost side. Jonava maintains sixth position with 15-13 record. Newly promoted Gargzdu keeps the eleventh place with 22 games lost. Jonava will meet at home league's second-placed Rytas in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Gargzdu will play against Siauliai (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
