There was a minor upset when 11th ranked MLP Academics Heidelberg (12-17) was defeated on the road by fourteenth ranked Hamburg Towers (11-19) 90-86 on Wednesday. Hamburg Towers made 20-of-24 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. Hamburg Towers outrebounded MLP Academics Heidelberg 38-26 including a 14-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. Swiss guard Anthony Polite (198-1997, college: FSU) stepped up and scored 25 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and American Yoeli Childs (203-1998, college: BYU) chipped in 18 points and 10 rebounds. American Tim Coleman (196-1995, college: NJIT) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds and the other American import point guard Eric Washington (183-1993, college: Miami, OH) scored 20 points and 9 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Hamburg Towers moved-up to thirteenth place.
