Regular Season Round 28: Wolves - Prienai 94-58

Very expected game when 12th ranked Prienai (4-24) was smashed by third ranked Wolves (20-8) in Vilnius 94-58 on Wednesday. Wolves dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Prienai's 30. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The winners were led by American guard Ahmad Caver (188-1996, college: ODU) who scored that evening 17 points and 7 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and the former international power forward Regimantas Miniotas (208-1996) supported him with 16 points. Five Wolves players scored in double figures. Even 9 points and 13 rebounds by Justinas Jogminas (197-1997) did not help to save the game for Prienai. The former international forward Darius Tarvydas (199-1991) added 14 points for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Wolves have an impressive five-game winning streak. Newly promoted Wolves maintains third position with 20-8 record having four points less than leader Zalgiris. Loser Prienai stay dead last with 24 lost games. Wolves will meet league's leader Zalgiris in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Prienai will play against Lietkabelis (#4) in Panevezys and hope to secure a win.
