Regular Season Round 28: Juventus - Lietkabelis 91-93

The most exciting game of round 28 in the LKL took place in Utena. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 5th ranked Juventus (16-12) to fourth ranked Lietkabelis (18-10) 93-91 in the game for the fourth place. Lietkabelis forced 19 Juventus turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Jamel Morris (193-1992, college: Fairmont St.) who helped to win the game recording 24 points. Estonian point guard Kristian Kullamaee (194-1999) contributed with 20 points for the winners. The former international guard Martynas Gecevicius (193-1988) replied with 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and American guard Jon Davis (190-1996, college: Charlotte) added 14 points and 6 assists in the effort for Juventus. Four Juventus players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Lietkabelis maintains fourth position with 18-10 record. Juventus at the other side keeps the fifth place with 12 games lost. Lietkabelis are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Prienai (#12) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Juventus will play against Nevezis (#8) in Kedainiai and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
