There was no surprise in Vinnytsia where bottom-ranked Poltava (0-7) was crushed by thirteenth ranked Vinnitsky Zubry (5-3) 127-53 on Friday. The game without a history. Vinnitsky Zubry led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Poltava's 22. Vinnitsky Zubry forced 32 Poltava turnovers and outrebounded them 46-29 including a 15-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Vinnitsky Zubry looked well-organized offensively handing out 34 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Poltava's players. Guard Andriy Gutsaliuk (192-1996) had a triple-double by scoring 54 points (!!!), 12 rebounds, 10 assists and 10 steals to lead the charge for the winners and forward Volodimir Furman (201-1989) chipped in 23 points and 5 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) during the contest. Five Vinnitsky Zubry players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Mykola Boichak with 20 points and 9 rebounds and Dmytro Vasylchenko scored 8 points. Vinnitsky Zubry have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with SumDU and Kalush-PNU. Poltava at the other side, also newcomer in the league, still closes the standings with seven games lost.
