Regular Season Round 33: Kirchheim - Giessen 97-82

There was a surprise result when eleventh ranked Kirchheim Knights (16-17) won against at home 4th placed 46ers (20-13) 97-82 on Saturday. Kirchheim Knights made 21-of-25 free shots (84.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The best player for the winners was American guard Michael Flowers (185-1999, college: WSU) who scored 31 points and 8 assists (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!). His fellow American import center Tyrone Nash (203-1988, college: Notre Dame) chipped in 14 points and 7 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!). Five Kirchheim Knights players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Serbian forward Stefan Fundic (200-1994) who recorded a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds and American forward Justin Martin (199-1990, college: SMU) added 19 points respectively. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Kirchheim Knights maintains eleventh place with 16-17 record. Loser 46ers keep the fourth position with 13 games lost. Kirchheim Knights will meet Leverkusen (#17) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. 46ers will play against the league's leader Rasta Vechta (#1) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
