Everything went according to plan when third ranked Bayern Muenchen (24-7) defeated 15th ranked Hakro Merlins (10-20) in Crailsheim 78-69 on Sunday. Bayern Muenchen outrebounded Hakro Merlins 43-30 including 32 on the defensive glass. International Andreas Obst (191-1996) notched 24 points (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) to lead the effort and the former international point guard Isaac Bonga (204-1999) supported him with 10 points and 11 rebounds. Bayern Muenchen's coach Andrea Trinchieri allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even 17 points and 6 rebounds by Lithuanian Arunas Mikalauskas (203-1997) did not help to save the game for Hakro Merlins. Finnish point guard Edon Maxhuni (188-1998, college: LBSU, agency: Octagon Europe) added 15 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures.
