Not a big story in a game when 9th ranked Seawolves (14-17) were rolled over on the road by third ranked Bayern Muenchen (25-7) 108-76 on Wednesday. Bayern Muenchen dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Seawolves' 24. They outrebounded Seawolves 36-22 including a 27-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Bayern Muenchen looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The former international point guard Isaac Bonga (204-1999) fired 17 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists (perfect from the field making all six shots) for the winners. The former international forward Niels Giffey (200-1991, college: UConn) chipped in 16 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). American point guard JeQuan Lewis (185-1994, college: VCU, agency: Octagon Europe) produced 14 points and 8 assists and the other American import Derrick Alston Jr (206-1997, college: Boise St.) added 13 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Five Bayern Muenchen and four Seawolves players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Bayern Muenchen. They maintain third place with 25-7 record having four points less than leader ALBA. Newly promoted Seawolves keep the ninth position with 17 games lost. They share it with Bamberg and Chemnitz. Bayern Muenchen will meet BG Goettingen (#6) on the road in the next round. Seawolves will play against Bayreuth and hope to secure a win.
