Regular Season Round 30: Rytas - Nevezis 99-93

Very expected game in Vilnius where 8th ranked Nevezis (13-17) was defeated by second ranked Rytas (24-6) 99-93 on Wednesday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The best player for the winners was American forward Justin Gorham (201-1998, college: Houston) who scored 17 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Icelandic point guard Elvar Fridriksson (182-1994, college: Barry) chipped in 15 points and 5 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Belgian Tim Lambrecht (207-1998) who recorded a double-double by scoring 23 points and 12 rebounds and American guard Brad Davison (193-1999, college: Wisconsin) added 23 points respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Nevezis' coach Gediminas Petrauskas rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Rytas have a solid three-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains second position with 24-6 record behind leader Zalgiris. Nevezis at the other side keeps the eighth place with 17 games lost. Rytas' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Vilnius Wolves.
