Regular Season Round 30: Siauliai - Lietkabelis 80-89

Very predictable result when fourth ranked Lietkabelis (20-10) beat on the road 9th ranked Siauliai (12-18) 89-80 on Thursday. The best player for the winners was Estonian point guard Kristian Kullamaee (194-1999) who scored 13 points and 4 assists. American guard Jamel Morris (193-1992, college: Fairmont St.) chipped in 10 points and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was swingman Martynas Varnas (196-1997) who recorded 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international point guard Donatas Sabeckis (197-1992) added 10 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists respectively. Four Lietkabelis and five Siauliai players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Lietkabelis have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 20-10 record. Siauliai at the other side keeps the ninth place with 18 games lost. Lietkabelis are looking forward to face league's leader Zalgiris in Kaunas in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Siauliai will play at home against Prienai (#12) and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
