Regular Season Round 31: Siauliai - Prienai 114-87
Date: May 1, 2023
Rather expected game when 12th ranked Prienai (4-28) was smashed on the road by ninth ranked Siauliai (13-18) 114-87 on Monday. Siauliai dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Prienai's 38. Siauliai had a 25-13 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 33 assists comparing to just 20 passes made by Prienai's players. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Kyle Mangas (193-1999, college: IWU) who led the winners and scored 21 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). His fellow American import point guard Antino Jackson (182-1996, college: N.Mexico, agency: Octagon Europe) accounted for 16 points and 7 assists for the winning side. Five Siauliai players scored in double figures. American point guard Kyan Anderson (180-1992, college: TCU) came up with 27 points and 6 assists and guard Karolis Giedraitis (194-1998) added 23 points (made all of his seven free throws) (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) respectively for Prienai in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Siauliai moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Nevezis. Prienai lost their sixth game in a row. They stay dead last with 28 lost games. Siauliai will meet higher ranked Wolves (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Prienai will play against the league's second-placed Rytas (#2) having rather not much hope for a victory.
