The game between closely ranked teams ended with seventh ranked ratiopharm Ulm's (18-15) home victory over 8th ranked Seawolves (15-18) 116-86 on Friday. ratiopharm Ulm made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. ratiopharm Ulm outrebounded Seawolves 49-29 including a 26-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The former international Karim Jallow (198-1997) stepped up and scored 33 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds (perfect behind the arc making all seven shots !!!) for the winners and Brazilian Bruno Caboclo (206-1995) chipped in 15 points and 13 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American Derrick Alston Jr (206-1997, college: Boise St.) with 19 points and 5 rebounds and the other American import point guard Jordan Roland (185-1997, college: Northeastern, agency: Diamond Sports) scored 15 points and 5 rebounds. Five ratiopharm Ulm and four Seawolves players scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. ratiopharm Ulm maintains seventh place with 18-15 record. Newly promoted Seawolves keep the eighth position with 18 games lost. They share it with Heidelberg and Chemnitz. ratiopharm Ulm will meet league's leader Telekom Baskets in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Seawolves will play against EnBW Ludwigsburg (#5) and hope to secure a win.
